Some fishermen are fishing in Vietnam by net, some by fishing rod, some by dynamite but some by electricity. It seems that this is the most humane and environmentally safe way of catching fish. There are a lot of small lakes and puddles in Baria – Vungtau province those appear during raining season with abundance of small fish and frogs in it.
Electrical fishing rod has quite simple construction but works very efficiently. They use 12 V accumulator, condenser, relay, shocker stick and net as per schematic circuit below.
In fishing usually participate all family members. Father always is the main character. Children having good eyes show to father where the fish hiding in the puddles. He is holding all equipment in box on his back and using electric shocker paralyze fish or frog living in small lakes and puddles by electric discharge. After this he picks up the prey by landing net and throws it to the basket caring by his wife.
During couples of hours up to one kilo of small fishes can be catched.
So, tonight happy countryside family has steam rice with fried fish.
